Cry of the Water
Sea Fans Project

Cry of the Water has been working with Cornell University since 1997 to monitor Sea Fans. Tagging of specific members of the Sea Fan community for the purpose of quarterly checks.

Sea Fans are mapped and inspected for signs of infection or progression of the disease Aspergillosis. Slides and reports are shipped to Dr. Drew Harvell for assessment.

Aspergillosis appears on the Sea Fan as dark colorful spots.   Sick sea fans are eaten away by the disease
